Section clearing
Section clearing for overgrown and vacant sections.
We mechanically clear overgrown vegetation from residential and vacant sections across Auckland, Northland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty. Our commercial 4×4 flail mowers cut and mulch long grass, gorse, blackberry and scrub in place, improving access and visibility for property owners, surveyors and builders. No spraying and no green waste to cart away.

What we clear
When a section has got away from you.
Vacant sections that have overgrown since purchase are one of our most common jobs. Long grass, gorse, blackberry and scrub hide the contours, survey pegs and soft spots that builders, surveyors and buyers need to see.
Our commercial 4×4 flail mowers cut and mulch overgrown vegetation, helping make neglected sections more accessible and manageable. For suitable sloping or difficult-to-reach areas, we also operate remote-controlled tracked mowing equipment. Every property is assessed for vegetation density, terrain, ground conditions and machinery access before work begins. Very soft or boggy ground is unsuitable for our machinery.

Before building
Clear the ground so surveyors, designers and builders can see what they’re working with.
Before selling
A tidy, walkable section shows far better to buyers than a wall of gorse.
Ongoing upkeep
Regular mowing stops a vacant section getting away again while you wait to build.
How it works
Section clearing in three steps.
01
Send us photos
Your address, a few photos of the growth, and roughly how big the section is.
02
We mulch it
Long grass, gorse, blackberry and scrub are mechanically mown and mulched in place using our commercial 4×4 flail mowers or other suitable mowing equipment.
03
Leave it tidy
The mulch stays on site as ground cover. No burn piles, no skip bins, no green waste loads.
Section got away on you?
Send us the address, a few photos of the growth and roughly how big the section is. We’ll assess whether it suits our machinery and explain the next steps.
Straight up
What section clearing with us does, and doesn’t, include.
We mow and mulch vegetation. Everything is left on site as mulch, so there are no skip bins, burn piles or green waste loads to organise.
We don’t remove rubbish, concrete, fences or structures, and we don’t fell large trees or grind stumps. If your section needs any of those, you’ll want a demolition, arborist or earthworks contractor alongside us. Our guide to clearing a section before building explains how it all fits together, and for bigger rural blocks and paddocks, see land clearing.
Our machinery can work near fences, buildings and other obstacles where there is sufficient safe access. However, the equipment cannot always mow right up to boundaries or structures, and a narrow strip of vegetation may remain. We do not provide handheld trimming to remove vegetation that our machines cannot safely reach.

Where we work
Section clearing across Auckland, Northland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty
We provide mechanical vegetation clearing for overgrown residential sections, vacant lots and suitable building sections across Auckland, Northland, Waikato and Bay of Plenty. Every property is different, so we assess the vegetation, terrain and machinery access before providing a quote.
Common questions
Section clearing, answered.
Do you take the cleared vegetation away?
No. The vegetation is mown and mulched in place, leaving the cut material on the ground rather than carting it away. We don’t use herbicide spraying as part of our clearing service.
Do you remove rubbish, stumps or concrete?
No. We mow and mulch vegetation only. Rubbish removal, stump grinding and concrete removal are jobs for a demolition, arborist or earthworks contractor.
Can you clear a section before we start building?
Yes. We can mechanically clear overgrown vegetation from suitable sections before building work begins. This can improve access and visibility for surveyors, designers and builders. We don’t undertake excavation, earthworks or complete construction-site preparation. Our guide to clearing a section before building explains how it fits together.
Do you clear sections in Auckland?
Yes. We clear sections across Northland, Auckland, Waikato and the Bay of Plenty, including rural and lifestyle sections on the city fringe.
How much does section clearing cost?
Pricing depends on the size of the section, vegetation density, terrain, ground conditions and machinery access. We quote each job individually rather than using a fixed rate. Send us the property’s location, photographs and an approximate area to get started. See what affects the price.
Can you clear a section covered in gorse or blackberry?
Yes. We mechanically cut and mulch suitable gorse, blackberry and scrub on overgrown sections. The vegetation is mulched in place rather than removed from the property. Suitability depends on the density of growth, terrain and machinery access.
Can you work on steep or difficult sections?
Often, yes. Our remote-controlled tracked mowing equipment can be used on some steep or difficult-to-access areas. We assess the slope, ground conditions and machinery access before confirming whether the work is suitable. Very soft or boggy ground is unsuitable for our machinery.
How close can you mow to fences and buildings?
We work as close as our machinery can safely reach, depending on the equipment and site conditions. Some vegetation may remain alongside fences, buildings, retaining walls and other obstacles. We don’t undertake handheld trimming to remove these remaining areas.
How do I get a quote, and how should I prepare my section?
Send us the property’s address, photographs and an approximate area requiring clearing. Clearly identify the area you want cleared and point out any hidden hazards, including old fencing wire, waratahs, rubbish, holes, underground services or obstacles. Identify any trees, plants or other features you want protected, and ensure machinery access is available. More complicated properties may require a site inspection before quoting.
